Travler / Terms

Terms of Service.

Last updated: 24 June 2026

Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Haste ("Haste", "we", "us"), established in the Netherlands, governing your use of the Travler mobile app and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account, downloading, accessing, or using Travler, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Our processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using Travler you confirm that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

2. Your account

Travler uses pseudonymous sign-in: an account is created for you without a name, email, or password. Your account is tied to your device and the credentials stored on it.

You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account and device. Because there is no email or password recovery, losing access to your device or its stored credentials may mean losing access to your account and its content. We cannot restore accounts or content for which we hold no recoverable credentials.

3. The Service

Travler lets groups create shared travel planning sessions ("Boards"), submit destination ideas ("Adventures"), vote on them, chat, and reach a result. Features available to you depend on your subscription tier and any one-off purchases. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use.

4. Subscriptions, purchases, and billing

The Service offers a free tier and optional paid plans (currently "Plus" and "Crew"), as well as one-off purchases (such as a "Board Pass" and board restarts).

  • All payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, not directly by us. Your purchase is also subject to the applicable store's terms.
  • Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly) and renew automatically until cancelled. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple or Google account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals but does not retroactively refund the current period.
  • Prices and plan features are shown in the app before purchase and may change for future billing periods, with notice where required by law.
  • One-off purchases are charged once and grant the specific entitlement described at the time of purchase.
  • Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their respective policies. This does not affect your statutory rights (see Section 5).

5. Right of withdrawal (EU and EEA consumers)

If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you may have statutory rights regarding the withdrawal from purchases of digital content and digital services.

Digital content, features, subscriptions, and other purchases available through the Service may be supplied immediately after purchase. Where permitted by applicable law, your right of withdrawal may be lost once the digital content has been supplied or performance of the digital service has begun with your consent.

For purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play, refunds and withdrawal requests are generally processed by the relevant store provider.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any mandatory consumer rights under applicable law.

6. Refunds, reversals, and abuse prevention

If a purchase, subscription, or other transaction is refunded, reversed, revoked, or charged back, we may revoke any associated access, features, benefits, virtual items, or entitlements.

Where the benefits of a purchase have already been consumed, used, or cannot reasonably be reversed, and we reasonably believe the refund or chargeback is fraudulent, abusive, or made in bad faith, we may take proportionate measures to protect the Service and prevent abuse, including restricting, suspending, or terminating the affected account.

We reserve the right to investigate and take action against fraudulent, abusive, or bad-faith refund activity.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to upload, share, or transmit content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or that violates others' rights or privacy;
  • upload content you do not have the right to share, or that infringes intellectual property;
  • harass, abuse, impersonate, or harm other users;
  • attempt to circumvent purchase, voting, rate-limiting, or security controls;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, overload, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
  • use the Service to send spam or to collect other users' data.

8. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you create in Travler (Boards, Adventures, images, comments, and similar). You grant Haste a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for example, resize images), and display that content solely to operate and provide the Service to you and the members you share it with. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content already shared with other members, content that has been irreversibly disassociated from your account ("anonymised") and which we may retain, and backups retained for a limited period.

You are solely responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights necessary to share it. We may remove content or restrict accounts that we reasonably believe violate these Terms or applicable law.

9. Chat and encryption

In-Board chat is end-to-end encrypted, and we cannot read its content. Because of this, we cannot moderate, retrieve, or restore chat messages. You are responsible for your conduct and content in chat, and remain bound by Section 7. Encrypted message relays are stored only temporarily, as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and the name "Travler", is owned by Haste or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app as permitted by these Terms and the applicable app store terms. No other rights are granted.

Some imagery is provided by third parties (for example, stock photos). Such content remains subject to its provider's terms.

If you believe content in the Service infringes your intellectual property rights, contact us at hello@travlerapp.net with details of the content, its location in the app, and a description of your rights. We will review and, where appropriate, remove the content or take other suitable action.

11. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties (including app stores, hosting, payments, advertising, and push notification providers) and may display links or content from third-party websites, including links added by users. We are not responsible for third-party services or content, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms and policies.

The free tier displays advertising. Your choices regarding personalised advertising are described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Availability and changes to the Service

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service, and may set or change technical limits, with notice where required by law.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or where required by law. On termination, the licences granted to you end, and your content is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as Sections 8, 10, 14, 15, and 17) continue to apply.

14. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Travler is a planning tool: we do not arrange, sell, or guarantee any travel, booking, price, or destination, and we are not responsible for decisions you make using the Service. This Section does not limit any mandatory statutory rights you have as a consumer.

15. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where this cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for intent or gross negligence, or under mandatory consumer protection law.

Subject to the above, and to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data or content, or loss arising from third-party services. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the liability, or EUR 50.

16. Apple App Store additional terms

If you obtained Travler from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:

  • These Terms are between you and Haste only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content.
  • Your licence to use the app is limited to use on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the Service.
  • Apple is not responsible for any product warranties or for addressing any claims relating to the app (including product liability, legal or regulatory non-compliance, or consumer protection claims); such claims are our responsibility to the extent we are liable under these Terms.
  • You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and are not on any US Government restricted-parties list.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which you reside, and may bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence. Otherwise, disputes are subject to the competent courts of the Netherlands.

EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are material, we will update the date above and provide notice in the app. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service.
